Is there such thing as micro-fiction?

This might be it:

“I’m cold.”

“I know. I’ll get you warm.”

“I’m cold. I’m just so cold.”

How they ended up here–he would tell the story, joke-like, when they got home. ‘A funny thing happened on the way to…’ kind of story, and everyone would groan and half-smile at him when he told it, and laugh off all the things that scare him at this moment.

Wasn’t so funny, right now, with her voice breaking on the word ‘cold.’

  • Oh, I really like this…a fragment of time that has the whole story locked away in it. And a beautiful sinister ending.

(Over here it’s Flash Fiction – I don’t know if that’s the US term as well?)
